We are pleased to announce that registration is now open
Before you book:
All delegates must pay a registration fee. Non-members of BASEES are encouraged to join the Association, one benefit being access to a reduced conference fee. To qualify for a reduced conference fee, existing members should renew their membership by 1 April 2024. Non-members may join during the booking process to take advantage of the reduced conference fee. See the BASEES website for further details of membership.

Delegates registering for remote attendance will be able to present their paper via Zoom and listen to all papers/ panels. Full hybrid, i.e. using special 360° camera, mic and speaker equipment, will only be available in a small number of rooms.

Payment can be made by credit or debit card during online registration. Payments by bank transfer can also be made after registration. All bookings should be made via the website, including anyone who has been awarded financial support to attend.
At the end of the payment process, you should print out or save your invoice.
BASEES 2026 Anti-Harassment Policy and Code of Conduct regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine:
The BASEES 2026 conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, nationality, citizenship, race, or religion. As an academic gathering, the conference promotes engagement, collaboration, and the understanding of a broad range of viewpoints, all underpinned by our shared values of scholarly rigor, collegiality, and mutual respect. We do not tolerate harassment of participants or staff in any form.
In response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and representation made by our community, BASEES, ASEEES and AATSEEL issued joint statements: Firstly, a Joint Statement of Opposition to Banning Scholars Based on Citizenship, and secondly, a Joint Statement Condemning Russian University Presidents’ Statement of Support for Russia’s Assault on Ukraine. These statements, along with translations in Ukrainian and Russian, can be found on the BASEES website.
In line with the above, we have adopted the following policy for the forthcoming BASEES 2026 conference:
– Sessions of the conference or any part of the venue must not be used as a platform for agitation, propaganda, or activities that support war, conflict, or genocidal ideas in relation to Russia’s war against Ukraine or any other war and conflict.
– Students and scholars based in Russia or Belarus will participate in a personal capacity.
– Our established anti-harassment policy will apply.
